The film \u2018Threatened forests\u2019 reveals the hidden truth behind \u201cgreen energy\u201d in the EU. It’s being\u00a0shown on EUBioenergy.com right now, a moment when the European Commission is consulting stakeholders on sustainable bioenergy policy.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Filmmaker Benoit Grimont made this documentary because he was struck by the regional opposition, socio-economic and environmental impacts caused by the development of a large scale biomass electricity installation in Gardanne, southern France. He investigated and discovered the implications of using wood for the production of bioenergy as a \u00ab\u00a0green energy\u00a0\u00bb.
